Where the data comes from. The schedule, forecasts and actuals come from TradingView's economic calendar: each event there has its exact time, period, units and a link to the agency that publishes it (↗ next to the name). Our server reads the calendar every minute and right at the time of each event, and every 5 seconds while a ★★-or-higher event lacks its number (up to 20 minutes after its time); the page takes the updates from our server. FRED, which the economic indicators pages are built from, is not enough for a calendar: its schedule has the days but not the times or forecasts, none of the Fed speeches, auctions, ISM or Michigan releases, and it adds the numbers later than the agency. A linked name opens that series' chart on this site.
The actual from the agency itself. For jobless claims (the Labor Department, DOL), CPI, jobs, PPI, JOLTS and import and export prices (the Bureau of Labor Statistics, BLS) our server starts reading the release itself every second from 3 seconds before it is due and takes the numbers as soon as it is out; such a number carries the agency's mark (its tooltip says when it came). BLS does not answer Russian addresses, so the server reads it through the project's US server. When TradingView brings its own actual we compare: ≠ means the numbers differ. The forecast and the previous value always come from TradingView.
Impact. TradingView's three levels (★★★ moves the market most), corrected for US stocks: initial jobless claims, ADP employment, hourly earnings, Conference Board consumer confidence and the core PPI and PCE are raised to ★★★, housing data and personal income and spending set to ★★, the 10-, 20- and 30-year auctions, the Treasury's refunding plan, the Beige Book and Michigan's preliminary inflation expectations raised to ★★. Speeches by the Fed chair are ★★★.
Actual and forecast. The forecast is the analysts' consensus. ▲ and ▼ by the actual mean above or below the forecast; no colour, because the same surprise can be good or bad for stocks depending on the event and the moment (strong jobs with high inflation can sink the market). "…" means the time has passed and the number is not in yet. Numbers just released are highlighted. Previous is the previous value as revised.
