Rules, sources and limits
The position is the chosen share count multiplied by the cumulative split factor, and one call is written per hundred shares. Prices are unadjusted everywhere, the way the option chain is quoted; a back-adjusted series would hide the split and misprice every strike before June 2024.
The call is sold at the bid of the writing minute and held to expiry. Settlement uses the official unadjusted close of the expiry session: above the strike the shares are called away at the strike and, unless the test is set to stop, the same share count is bought back at the next session open. Totals include settled cycles only; a call whose expiry has no completed settlement session is not opened in the report.
RSI filter (optional, off by default): the call is written only on a session whose daily RSI(14) at the writing minute is above the chosen level; otherwise nothing is written that session and the next one tries again. RSI is Wilder’s: the averages run over daily closes from January 2022, the writing minute’s price stands in for that session’s close, and closes are multiplied by the share factor so the split does not look like a crash.
The benchmark holds the identical share count and writes nothing, starting from the same purchase, so the distance between the two lines is exactly the result of the options and nothing else.
Limits. A close just below the strike can still be exercised after the bell, so assignment counted from the close is the optimistic convention. Early assignment, dividends and the borrow are not modelled, and the buy-back of shares carries no modelled commission. Nothing here is a recommendation.
